Todd Simmons became principal for Cedar Springs High School in July of 2022.

For the past 14 years, Mr. Simmons served as the Principal of Pewamo-Westphalia MS/HS.  He partnered with the educators, students, and parents of Pewamo-Westphalia to make P-W a perennial top 20 high school in the state of Michigan, as rated by U.S. News and World Report, and was also honored as MASSP/MASC Principal of the Year (2020), and NASSP State Principal of the year (2020)

Todd grew up in Iron River, Michigan, graduated from West Iron County HS, and earned his degree from Central Michigan University, while living out his childhood dream of playing four years, as a non-scholarship walk-on, on the CMU Mens' Basketball team.  

Previously he spent five years in Middle/High School as an Industrial Education Teacher at both P-W and Tri County Schools, as well as 2 years as an Assistant Coach at Central Michigan University in Mens' Basketball.

He loves to go on date nights with his wife (Lindsey) of 12 years, as well as spend quality time chasing and playing with his three children (Ronni, Braidi, and Ty), who attend Cedar View and Cedar Trails.

Mr. Simmons is excited to pursue his personal best here at CSHS, while concurrently inspiring and encouraging all stakeholders to do the same. He is ready to build authentic relationships with students, staff, and our community, and grow our culture here at Cedar Springs Schools.

He is fired up to be a Red Hawk!

Edward Johns

Eddie Johns was the interim assistant principal at the high school for the winter of 2022, and now in his full time position of Assistant Principal for the 22-23 school year.

Mr. Johns recently completed his 12th year teaching science, and 8th year teaching in our school district.

Mr. Johns and his wife have three young boys, a dog, and baby girl born in July. He
loves outdoor activities and nature, with cycling being his biggest hobby.

Mr. Johns graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and a biology major and Chemistry minor. He received his Master's degrees from Central Michigan University in Educational Leadership and American College of Education in Education Business Administration.
